Do you pay attention to the composition of your cosmetics and buy only all-natural products? You will be 100% sure of the ingredients especially if you make your favorite cosmetic yourself
– a small jar or packaging from used lipstick (twist-off)
– coconut oil, cocoa butter/shea butter and cosmetic beeswax
– honey
– sweet almond, avocado or jojoba oil
– bentonite cosmetic clay (you can also use it as the base of a face mask or toothpaste)
– essential oils of your favorite scents
– red food colouring (one drop is enough per lipstick), beet or cocoa powder, turmeric
In a water bath (place a small glass container such as a jar in a pot of hot water), melt one teaspoon each of coconut oil, cocoa or shea butter and beeswax. These have a low melting point, about 65 degrees Celsius, so the water does not need to boil.
To get the desired color, add a drop of food coloring. Use a pinch (1/8 teaspoon) of beet powder, cocoa powder or turmeric to choose your favorite shade of red.
Make your lipstick shine by adding honey, almond, avocado or jojoba oils. If you add a bit of bentonite clay, the lipstick will fade.
A drop of the essential oil of your choice will give your lipstick a pleasant aroma. Remember that most essential oils have an antibacterial effect, so they will give your lipstick additional properties.
Slowly place the concoction thus prepared in a lipstick container or jar and let it set.
