How do you save stained clothes? 5 ways to do it

It takes approx. 3 minutes to read this article

Stained clothes? It’s probably happened to everyone. It turns out that you can still save them – you just need to know how. Here are the best ways!

It’s enough to sort your laundry wrongly or accidentally throw something coloured into your bright clothes and the problem is over. It turns out that many people are convinced that stained clothes are suitable only for “rags to the floor”. Nothing more misleading. There are ways to save our clothes

Method 1: Vinegar

Vinegar is an ingredient of many household products such as cleaning or washing windows, floors or household appliances. It turns out that it can also help in case of stained clothes. The whole process is quite tedious and lengthy, but it is really worth it

Prepare a solution of vinegar and water – pour half a glass of vinegar and some water into a bowl. Put the stained clothes in the bowl and leave it for several hours. Then squeeze them and wash in a washing machine. This method is effective especially for clothes made of denim, unfortunately it will not help in case of delicate satin

Method 2: Baking soda and powder

A very simple and probably one of the most effective ways to discolor clothes is to use baking powder and soda. You need to mix warm water with a few teaspoons of baking powder so that foam forms on top

Apply this foam on the areas that have been stained and leave it to dry. Then wash the stain by hand, unless you have covered the entire stain with the foam, in which case you can wash it in a washing machine. If you decide to use a washing machine, it is worth adding some baking soda or baking powder (about half a cup) to the drum in addition to the liquid or washing powder

Method 3: Bay leaf

Few people realize that bay leaf is useful not only in soups or prepared dishes. It can also help “save” stained clothes. Pour water into a pot and put 10-15 bay leaves into it. When the whole thing boils – put it aside and wait until it cools down a bit

Then put the stained blouse or pants into the solution and leave it for a few hours. Finally, wash the clothes in a washing machine – there should be no trace of the stain

Method 4: Lemon juice to the rescue of white items

If you have stained a white blouse, lemon juice can help – it has been known for its whitening properties for years. All you need to do is slice a lemon and put it in a bowl. Then, you also need to squeeze out some extra juice and pour in warm water. You can also add a small teaspoon of hydrogen peroxide

The whole thing is lightly mixed and put the clothes. Soak them for 2-3 hours, rinse and put in the washing machine. Lemon is not good for colored clothes because it can make the shade less intense, as if the clothes were faded.

Method #5: Egg shells

Egg shells are also great for whitening – and not many people know this. Besides, their advantage is that they do not damage the fabric. So, they are completely safe even for delicate blouses.

All you have to do is put the eggshells in a bowl, pour some water over them and put the blouse inside. Then, put the shells (preferably fresh) in a linen or laundry bag and put them in the washing machine together with your clothes. The staining should disappear.
