10 home remedies to help you get rid of puffiness from your face

It takes approx. 4 minutes to read this article

A swollen face is usually the result of a sleepless night, usually also spiked with alcohol. Sometimes, however, the cause lies elsewhere – something during the night disturbed our rest. Whatever the cause of swelling, it is worth knowing ways to deal with it. We present them in the following article.

Massage the area under the eyes

If the puffiness is most prominent in the under-eye area, the easiest way to get rid of it is to perform a massage. Stroking the eyelids with your fingertips for several seconds, and then with your middle fingertip apply point pressure to the eyelids – first the upper, then the lower. Head in the direction from the temples to the nose.

Tea compress

Brew tea bags – preferably black or green tea. If the puffiness is under the eyes, you will only need 2 pouches, if all over the face – you will need about 5-6 pieces. Wait until they cool down and put them on your face for 15 minutes.

Chamomile compress

To get rid of puffiness from the face, chamomile also helps. It will especially work well for swollen eyelids. It is prepared and made identically to the tea compress. In addition, with the infusion that remains after brewing chamomile, we can wash the eyelids to eliminate redness.

Minidrainage of the face

Minidrainage of the face will allow you to equalize the lymph under the skin and thus get rid of puffiness. To perform it, all you need to do is rhythmically “tap” your face with the index fingers of both hands, in the direction from your forehead to your chin. The movements should be firm, but at the same time gentle, so as not to irritate the skin too much.

Japanese massage with cosmetic sticks

Clasp a couple of cosmetic sticks, ending with cotton balls, with a prescription rubber band. You need two such sets: one for each half of the face. For a few minutes, “sharpen” the skin of your face, starting from the temples, through the cheeks, up to the neck below the ear. In this way, your skin will drain excess lymph and water from the face more quickly and easily.

Wrap with a raw potato

The cooling effect of this raw vegetable will quickly get rid of puffiness from your face. All you have to do is grate the potato on a coarse mesh grater, and apply the resulting slurry to your face. After 15 minutes, wash it off with water.

Cucumber poultice

A fresh cucumber can also help with a swollen face. Cut it into slices and put it in the refrigerator for a long while. Apply the cooled pieces to your face for 10 minutes. Then remove them and wash your skin with cool water.

Massage with ice cubes

Massage with ice cubes will certainly bring relief to our skin and help get rid of bothersome puffiness. Wrap the ice cubes in foil and then a cloth to feel the pleasant chill, not the ice. Massage your face in circular motions from the forehead, towards the chin for 2-3 minutes.

Cold spoon compress

This method is ideal when you want to get rid of puffiness from around the eyes. Put the spoon in the refrigerator for a few moments or hold it under a stream of cold water. Then apply it to the upper eyelid, and then to the lower eyelid. Repeat the action several times.

Cool compress

This method will help with swelling caused by tooth extraction. Wrap a dozen ice cubes in cling film and then lignin. Apply to the swollen area for several minutes or tie it to your head with a scarf.
