In addition, the use of appropriate ingredients makes them tailored to our individual needs, so their effectiveness is also greater. Homemade avocado masks are becoming more and more popular. This fruit in recent years has become not only popular in our kitchens, but thanks to its properties also proved to be a basic ingredient in many cosmetics
Avocado and its valuable properties
Avocado is a fruit with many nutritional and medicinal properties. In its composition one can find, among others, oleic acid, which lowers cholesterol or blood pressure. Avocado is native to south-central Mexico and its name comes from “Ahuacuatl”, which, in the language used by the Aztecs, means “tree on which the kernels grow”. In Poland, it is also known by names such as “tasty” or “alligator pear”
Avocado is a source of monounsaturated fatty acids, thanks to the fats it contains many other valuable components are better assimilated. It is also a source of potassium. The Mexican fruit contains a lot of vitamins: A, C, E, strong antioxidants, B vitamins. No wonder, then, that it is used in cosmetics. It is especially recommended for problematic skin, with scars, dryness or acne. It perfectly moisturizes, lubricates and soothes irritation
Home-made hair mask with avocado and coconut oil
Avocado and coconut oil mask perfectly nourishes and regenerates hair. It also reduces their porosity and protein loss. It is worth it for people with damaged strands and with problems with frizzy hair. Avocado creates on them an invisible protective layer – it prevents dryness and micro-damage. To make such a mask, we need:
- a ripe avocado,
- 2-3 tablespoons of coconut oil.
Avocados should be mashed thoroughly, so that there are no lumps. Add coconut oil to the resulting slurry. Apply the mixture to the entire length of the hair and massage into the scalp. Put on a plastic cap and leave it on for half an hour. Then wash your head with lukewarm water and shampoo. This mask should be used twice a week
Avocado, aloe and honey hair mask
If you have really weak hair, hair falling out, with split ends – it is worth using a homemade mask with avocado, aloe and honey. It is also an excellent preparation for the problem of frizzy, dull, lackluster hair. To make the cosmetic you need the following ingredients:
- ripe avocado,
- 2 tablespoons of aloe vera,
- 2 tablespoons of honey,
- 2 or 3 tablespoons of coconut oil,
- 1.5 teaspoons of lemon juice.
Pour all the ingredients into a bowl and blend it into a smooth paste. Then apply it to the entire length of your hair. Put on a shower cap and wait about 25 minutes. Then rinse the mixture thoroughly with lukewarm water.
Moisturizing face mask with avocado
Avocado is a great moisturizer, so people with dry skin should reach for cosmetics containing this fruit. To prepare a moisturizing and nourishing mask you will need:
- a ripe avocado,
- egg yolk,
- a teaspoon of honey,
- a teaspoon of apple cider vinegar,
- 2-3 tablespoons of olive oil.
Crush peeled avocado to a smooth paste, add honey, vinegar and beaten egg. Mix all the ingredients thoroughly. Then pour olive oil and mix until smooth. Apply this paste on your face and leave it for 25-30 minutes. Then rinse thoroughly with cool water. It is worth using this treatment twice a week. Already after the first time, your skin should be noticeably more moisturized and nourished
